For the local church to wake up to its role in society,
as He may lead us.
For true biblical teaching to be restored to the church.
For church leaders to govern in the discernment and
fear of the Lord, for them to be free to lead well,
and for Godly leaders to be well supported by their
churches.
For unity in the church as a whole. For leaders to
be less ‘protective’ and more open to
one another.
For leaders to be mindful of their own personal walk
with Jesus alongside that of their ministry calling.
For the many church and parachurch based practical
and social projects in the community.
For the City council (As directed by 1Tim 2:1-2).
That the council governs with integrity, remembering
its central purpose to serve the community. Please
pray for the Councillors, especially the Christians.
For the new County Council and County government to
work together.
For the Senior schools of the city, that a new generation
be raised up who will be open to Godly standards of
behaviour and Godly values. Pray for prophetic voices
to be raised up who can speak the right language into
the generation going through schools at this time.
Let us also remember to pray for the university, and
for the witness amongst the students.
For businessmen and commerce in our city and county,
remembering that as business prospers then employment
prospers also. Pray for Godly businessmen to be raised
up.
For the violence and drunkenness on the streets particularly
on weekend evenings.
Pray for the police to have wisdom, discernment and
strength as they tackle these issues.
Pray for race relations, that we avoid the problems
that have flared up elsewhere, especially in the light
of the current world situation.
Pray for the Asian communitys and for the new leaders
of their nation as he seeks to build relationships
within that community.
