Finding the Right Accommodation

Once you have decided on your destination and flights, then there is the difficult part of choosing the right accommodation for your holiday. The type of accommodation you choose may often be dependent upon who is going on holiday. If you are a couple, a couple with a baby, or even two friends, then a hotel maybe the best solution. Not only can you choose whether to have a double or twin room, but hotels also offer the convenience of being able to dine in. Very often hotels are located in city centres or near to other prime tourist destinations, including beaches. The price of staying in a hotel will usually be dependent on your budget. Hotels are also ideal for short or weekend break and some hotels will offer all-inclusive deals including food and drink for the duration of the holiday.

If however it is a larger family group that will be going on holiday, or even a group of friends, then self-catering accommodation may be a better solution as well as it offering more convenience for longer holidays. Many European destinations as well as some further afield offer villas as the main type of self-catering accommodation.

Advantages to renting villas include their locations. They are often situated away from major tourist destinations making them ideal if you prefer some quiet time on your holiday. Because villas can often be located off the beaten-track, this can give you a chance to experience some of the local life. Many villas will have their own pool, meaning that unlike big complexes you are able to spend as much or as little time as you like in there.

Villas are also available in different styles, some are traditional villas, whereas others are of an extremely modern design, or even completely unique. Villas also offer all modern conveniences, including washers and dryers, which makes it easier to manage the family laundry while away. Some villas may also contain facilities such as a games room or spa. You may also find that villas are more accommodating to additional requirements, such as those of a disabled guest.

If you are staying as a family, a private villa holiday can also give you the freedom from having set mealtimes or menus, which with young children can cause problems. Because villas can comfortably accommodate a large number of guests they also have enough room for everyone to be able to spend time in their own space.
